RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Children's Liturgy of the Word: At the 10:00 am masses, the children are dismissed after the opening prayer for a celebration of the Word of God that is geared for their age level. After the opening prayer they are accompanied by two religious education teachers to a classroom for their own liturgical celebration of the Sunday Scriptures. The children return to the church after the time of the homily.

Grades 1 _ 7: From 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Sundays children of these grade levels are in classes with interactive learning of the Catholic faith by two adult teachers and assistants.

Grades 8 _ 12: Our Confirmation Class includes grades 8 to 12 in the preparation process through regular Sunday classes from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on three Sundays. A monthly Sunday meeting from 12:00 _ 2:30 pm gives us the opportunity to explore educational and formation activities.

R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults)

From September through the Easter Vigil, adults who desire to become members of the Roman Catholic faith and/or to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist) receive instruction in the faith, receive religious counseling in their discernment to become full members, are accompanied on their journey by a Roman Catholic sponsor, and (in a partial way) join in the Church's Sunday Liturgical celebration.

Christian Initiation for Children: This process is for children under the age of 18 and are uncatechized or who have either never received the Sacrament of Baptism or need to be prepared for Sacraments of Eucharist and/or Confirmation.

ONGOING ADULT FAITH FORMATION

Small Christian Communities: These are small groups of Catholics (mostly parishioners) who are continuing to be formed in their faith through gathering in informal settings to pray, study and/or discuss the Scriptures and the Catholic faith, share personal faith, and support each other through their living of the faith. These groups were formed through the RENEW Program (of RENEW International) and have decided to continue as small Christian communities with the support and integration of the whole parish community. For information contact Fr. Jim Fukes, who, together with a core community and the small group leaders, supports and coordinates the Small Christian Communities.

Educational Formation: Classes in various areas of our Catholic faith are offered at different times. Watch for announcements on this parish web site, the parish bulletin and in-church announcements.
